The Perfect Mint Julep

There are many different ways to make a Mint Julep, but we are going with an older recipe that has stood the test of time.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of sugar or sugar cube
1/2 oz of water
12 leaves of fresh mint
3 oz of Brandy or Bourbon.
1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
Instructions:
Place 6-8 mint leaves in a tall mixing glass and dissolve with sugar and water, until the flavor of the mint is well extracted; then take out the mint and add the Brandy or Bourbon. Fill your rocks glass with fine-shaved ice; mix in your bourbon and mint flavor, stir well. Take remainder mint leaves, and insert them in the ice with stem downward, so that the leaves will be on surface in the shape of a bouquet; and berries, pine-apple, and orange on top in a tasty manner; dash with a little Jamaica rum, and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar and enjoy.
