Ice Cold Classic VIII – This Week’s Dueling Weapon

As the heat of the dog days presses in, and the first whisper of autumn stirs the air, the Society issues its August recommendation: a drink to cut through the haze, to refresh both spirit and resolve.

At weddings, in gardens, on balconies as the sun falls — The Ice Cold Classic is the Duelist’s answer. A drink as crisp as a challenge, served cold enough to still the chatter and sharpen the moment.

The Ritual

Ingredients:

2.5 oz premium vodka

0.5 oz dry vermouth

Lemon peel or olive (choose your allegiance) Ice sphere or cube

Instructions:

1. In your copper shaker, fill halfway with ice.

2. Add vodka and vermouth.

3. Stir exactly 21 full turns — the Duelist’s count.

4. Strain into the chilled martini chalice over a single clear ice sphere, or serve neat.

5. Garnish with a lemon peel (for clarity) or olive (for cunning).
